Mitsubishi Electric Classic

April 9th-15th, 2018 — TPC Sugarloaf

The Mitsubishi Electric Classic will return to the metro Atlanta area April 9-15, 2018 and will feature legends of the game such as Tom Watson, Miguel Angel Jimenez, and Bernhard Langer.

The Mitsubishi Electric Classic proudly stands as a premier golf tournament on the PGA TOUR Champions, but this event is much more than a golf tournament. The events and activities associated with the Mitsubishi Electric Classic provide an all-inclusive, entertaining atmosphere and the beautiful views of TPC Sugarloaf serve as a backdrop for world-class golf and provide the perfect venue to mingle with friends and business leaders while watching the legends of the game.

The event, which will benefit local charities through the Gwinnett Championship Foundation Inc., has raised over $1.8 million since the first tournament in 2013.

All three rounds of the Mitsubishi Electric Classic will be televised internationally by Golf Channel.

Birdies for Charity

Charities will receive 100% of every donation collected.

How Does Birdies for Charity Work? Participants can either make a one-time flat donation or a pledge of $.01 or more for each birdie made by the PGA TOUR Champions professionals during the 2018 Mitsubishi Electric Classic (official rounds April 13-15).

What is a Birdie? “Birdie” is a score of one stroke better than “par” for any golf hole on the course. “Par” is the normal expected score of a golf professional on any given hole. For example, on a par 4 hole, a score of 3 is a birdie.

Benefitting charity of Mitsubishi Electric Classic earns annual award

“We could not be more excited or appreciative of this great honor. The generous spirit of the greater metro Atlanta area showcased itself during the 2017 Mitsubishi Electric Classic and we are extremely proud to be a part of such an impactful event in our community. On behalf of the students, families and staff at Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett, we are overwhelmingly thankful for the generosity of PGA TOUR Champions and the dedication of the Mitsubishi Electric Classic. This kind of commitment will help Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett continue to deliver on our IF WE BUILD IT, THEY WILL GROW campaign.

Susie Collat, vice-chair of Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett.
